Pokes Head to The Pit for Saturday Showdown with Lobos

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Dec. 28, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowboys hit the road once again this time for a trip to The Pit to take on the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. The Contest will be televised on CBS Network.
Fans can listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network with Keith Kelley on the call and Kevin McKinney on Color.
About The Teams
Wyoming heads into the New Year with a 10-3 overall mark and a 1-1 record in MW play. UW is averaging 85 points per game for the season to rank first in the MW and No. 59 in the nation. The Cowboys allow 71.3 points per game for fifth in the MW. Wyoming is shooting 47.6 percent from the field with opponents shooting 42.8 percent. Wyoming is shooting 34.5 percent from behind the at and add 8.4 makes per game. UW grabs 39.5 rebounds per night, a number that leads the MW and ranks No. 70 in the nation.
The Lobos enter the game with a 10-3 overall record and a 1-1 mark in conference play as well. The Lobos fell on the road on Tuesday at Boise State by a tally of 62-53. New Mexico is averaging 79.8 points per game and allow 68.1 per night. The Lobos are shooting 44.7 percent from the field and hold opponents to 39.4 percent. The Lobos are hitting nine three-pointers per game and shoot 76.6 percent from the free throw line. UNM grabs 37.2 rebounds per game and records 3.2 blocks per night.
About The Players
Wyoming is led in scoring this season by Leland Walker at 13.5 points per game. He also adds a team-high 3.8 assists per game, which ranks fifth in the conference. Nasir (Naz) Meyer adds 13.4 points per game this season and adds 4.9 rebounds per game. He is shooting 51.3 percent from the field. Khaden Bennett adds 10 points per game and ranks second on the team with 4.8 rebounds per night. He is second on the team with 37 helpers on the season.
New Mexico is led in scoring by Jake Hall at 13.5 points per game on the season. He is shooting 37.6 percent from behind the arc with a team-high 35 makes for the season. Deyton Albury adds 12.4 points per game and 4.1 rebounds. He adds 3.3 assists per game. Tomislav Buljan adds 11.4 points per game and is one of the top rebounders in the MW at 9.2 per night.
About The Series
The Cowboys trail the all-time series against New Mexico 83-72 with the first meeting coming in 1950. Wyoming is 25-48 all-time against the Lobos on the road with the last win coming in 2023 on Valentine’s Day.
