Wyoming’s Naz Meyer Named to Preseason All-Mountain West Team
Wyoming sophomore guard Nasir “Naz” Meyer was named to the 2026-27 Preseason All-Mountain West Team on Wednesday, following a freshman season in which he finished as the Cowboys’ second-leading scorer.
Meyer was Wyoming’s lone representative on the 11-player preseason team.
The 6-foot-7, 202-pound guard from Los Angeles averaged 12.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game last season. He appeared in 31 games, made 23 starts and shot 46.3 percent from the field and 35.2 percent from the 3-point range.

His rebounding average also tied for the team lead, giving Wyoming production from Meyer beyond his scoring.
Meyer reached double figures in 22 games during his freshman campaign, highlighted by a career-high 27 points at Nevada.
One of his most efficient performances came against South Dakota State in a neutral-site contest. Meyer scored 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting, including a 4-of-5 showing from beyond the arc. He added seven rebounds and an assist.
Those performances followed a prep career that included stops at Agoura High School in California and New Hampton School in New Hampshire.
At Agoura, Meyer averaged 19.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. While playing for New Hampton, he scored 35 points and made seven 3-pointers against Western Reserve at the National Prep Championship. He also drew recruiting interest from Marquette and Arizona State.
Now entering his second season with the Cowboys, Meyer has earned preseason conference recognition after establishing himself as a regular starter and one of Wyoming’s leading offensive contributors.
Grand Canyon led the preseason team with four selections: Dylan Darling, Efe Demirel, Jaden Henley and Makaih Williams. Nevada, New Mexico and UNLV each had two players selected.
Nevada’s Elijah Price and Vaughn Weems joined New Mexico’s Jake Hall and Uriah Tenette, UNLV’s Tyrin Jones and AJ Storr, and Meyer on the team.
