Wyoming Hits Road for Contest at Utah State

LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Wyoming Cowboys hit the road for a trip to Utah State on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. It marks the 93rd all-time meeting between the two schools with the game being televised on CBS Sports Network.

Fans can listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network with Keith Kelley on the call and Kevin McKinney on Color.

About The Teams

Wyoming heads into the contest with a 12-8 overall record and a 3-6 mark in conference play after defeating San Jose State by a score of 66-62 on Saturday. The Pokes are scoring 79.6 points per game for fourth in the conference this season. UW is allowing 72.2 points per night. UW is shooting 47 percent from the field with the opposition shooting 44 percent. Wyoming is grabbing 37.5 rebounds per game to lead the conference and Wyoming leads the conference with over 12 offensive rebounds per game.

 


Utah State heads into the game with a 16-3 overall record and a 7-2 mark in conference play. USU leads the MW in scoring 83.7 points per game and allow 68.3 per night. The Aggies shoot 51 percent from the field this season, which is one of the top marks in the nation and tops in the MW. Opponents are shooting 41 percent from the field. One of the top teams sharing the basketball in the nation, Utah State is recording 17.7 assists per game.

About The Players

Wyoming is led in scoring this season by Leland Walker at 15.1 points per game. He also adds a team-high 3.7 assists per game, which ranks fifth in the conference. He had 30 points for a career-high against Boise State last week. Nasir (Naz) Meyer adds 13.7 points per game this season and adds 5.2 rebounds per game. He is shooting 40 percent from behind the arc this season. He missed the two games with an injury. Khaden Bennett adds 9.2 points per game and ranks second on the team with 4.6 rebounds per night. He ranks fourth in the MW shooting over 85 percent from the free throw line. He is second on the team with 55 helpers on the season.

The Aggies are led in scoring this season by MJ Collins at 19.3 points per game, as he leads the conference in scoring. He is shooting 50 percent from the field and 42 percent from behind the arc with 42 makes this season. Mason Falslev adds 16.5 points per game with a team-high 5.9 rebounds per game. He is shooting 52 percent from the field and has 50 helpers on the season.

About The Series

The Cowboys and Aggies will meet for the 93rd time on Wednesday. Wyoming is 18-25 all-time against the Aggies in Logan with the last win coming in 2022. Both meetings last season went to Utah State but were decided by seven points combined.

Up Next

The Cowboys will face Colorado State in the first edition of the Border War on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. inside the Arena-Auditorium. Saturday's game will be a White Out as fans are encouraged to wear white.
