Wicks on Mora
"Recruiting our current roster was priority number one this off-season and that was extremely successful.  Bringing back KB, Naz, Gaz, Uriyah & redshirt Neil Summers, we return 50% of our production, so now the emphasis is on finding F.I.T.S.  Recruiting players who have high feel, intelligence, toughness, & skill to compliment a core of Cowboys who are committed to competing for a championship.  We are going to be very intentional about finding OKC’s who can build upon the character and culture that the 2025-26 Cowboys established."
Â
Mike fits the bill for what we were looking for and we knew it immediately! He is a versatile, tough-minded winner who give us terrific positional size and a strong desire to ride for the brand and be a career Cowboy.  Mike has a winning pedigree and has positively impacted winning at every program he has been a part of in his career. He is Cowboy Tough and possesses an elite shot making ability from beyond the arc, while also being able to play some bully ball on the block. At 6’6, 210lbs Mike brings a Mountain West ready body to next year’s roster and will fill a void on the glass that we desperately need.  Please extend a ROWDY TOUGH GUY TOWN WELCOME to the man from Monterey Bay, Mike Mora.
Â
Mora, a 6-6, 210-pound forward is a native of Palo Alto, Calif. He spent the past two seasons at CSUMB. He appeared in and started 56 games over the last two seasons and has knocked down 120 three pointers. This past season he was a First Team All-Conference selection and tied for the conference scoring title lead with 17.2 points per game.
Â
In 2025-26, Mora knocked down 68 three-pointers and shot 38 percent from behind the arc. He also added 6.2 rebounds per game for the season and recorded 36 steals. In 2024-25, he added 11.9 points per game along with 4.1 rebounds.
Â
Prior to his time at CSUMB, Mora played one season at Vermont. He played for Cowboy assistant coach Nick Whitmore at the Ashville School for three seasons and was a two-time captain.
