Whitmore Named to Silver Waves Media 100 Most Impactful Mid-Major Coaches or GM’s

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Jan. 8, 2026) – University of Wyoming Assistant coach Nick Whitmore was named to the Silver Waves Media 100 Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistants/GMs list this week. He is in his third season with the Brown and Gold.

The Seventh annual Mid-Major Coaches and GMs lists have seen numerous coaches go on to become NCAA Division I Head Coaches. The Silver Waves Media list has become the industry standard for excellence. After consulting with a panel of industry professionals, the list was announced to open the New Year.

The Cowboys have already won 11 games this season and went 9-2 in non-conference play, averaging over 80 points per game. Whitmore came to Wyoming after serving as head coach at the Prep School level for nearly a decade, producing 39 Division I players and one First Round NBA Draft pick. He has also coached 30 players who have gone to play professionally, including a First Round NBA talent, and recruited players from 11 different countries.
