COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  (Jan. 4, 2025) –The 8-6 Wyoming Cowboys Men’s Basketball team will take on the 3-10 Air Force Falcons of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., at Clune Arena. Tipoff is slated for 3 PM MST. The game can be streamed live on the Mountain West Network, Altitude2, and radio play-by-play will be syndicated on the Cowboy Sports Network.

With conference play just underway, we asked Wyoming head coach Sundance Wicks about the critical role of the non-conference schedule in preparing his team for conference play and the road to the MWC tournament. "Everything is about maximizing your experiences as a team, especially in this day and age when you have players moving around a lot," Wicks explained. "So you’ve got to put them in every situation. We did that in non-conference, and then obviously in league play, you just see it all over the place—one-possession, two-possession, three-possession games. They’re just knock-down, drag-out dogfights every night." "I think playing those games in non-conference helped us. Obviously with, Utah State it helps us with Boise, it’s going to help us with Air Force. Just the past and the style of play, it’s helped us with Nevada. All those things just add up." Wicks expressed excitement for the growth ahead, adding, "It’s a culmination of trying to be able to play your best basketball in February and March, which we’re still so far away from. That’s what I love—just knowing we’ve got so much room to get better, every single player and our team as well."

Wyoming enters the contest with a 1-2 conference record, while the Air Force Falcons enter with a 0-2 conference record.
