The University of Wyoming's five representatives earned their selections following an outstanding 2025-26 collegiate rodeo season that included NIRA Central Rocky Mountain Region championships and strong performances at the 2026 College National Finals Rodeo in Casper.
Â
Leading the Cowboys and Cowgirls is national champion goat tyer Josie Mousel of Colman, South Dakota. Mousel captured the 2026 College National Finals Rodeo national championship in goat tying while also claiming the prestigious Women's All-Around national title. She also dominated the Central Rocky Mountain Region standings, finishing first in goat tying with 995 points.
Â
Bareback rider Colton Farrow of Greybull, Wyoming, also earned a spot on the North Team after another outstanding season. Farrow finished second in the Central Rocky Mountain Region standings with 1,025 points and capped his collegiate career by placing fourth at the 2026 College National Finals Rodeo, finishing just behind a three-way tie for the national championship.
Â
Wyoming will have two representatives in steer wrestling.
Â
Jacob Wang of Baker, Montana, won the Central Rocky Mountain Region steer wrestling title with 650 points during the regular season. Wang's run at the College National Finals Rodeo was hampered by a no-score in the opening go-round, and he ultimately finished 18th nationally.
Â
Joining Wang is Sam Gallagher of Brighton, Colorado, who finished second in the Central Rocky Mountain Region standings with 570 points. Gallagher placed 32nd at the College National Finals Rodeo after qualifying for college rodeo's premier championship.
Â
Tate Talkington of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, rounds out Wyoming's representatives after winning the Central Rocky Mountain Region tie-down roping title with 695 points. Talkington finished 22nd at the College National Finals Rodeo.
Â
A press release from the PBR contributed to the event format below:
Unlike a traditional rodeo, the Collegiate All-Star Rodeo will utilize a fast-paced, head-to-head team format inspired by PBR's Rock N Rodeo competition.
Â
The event will feature one-on-one matchups across nine rodeo disciplines. Each discipline includes three head-to-head contests, with competitors facing an athlete from the opposing team. Timed events will run simultaneously using a synchronized light system, while roughstock events will compete back-to-back.
Â
Each matchup is worth one point, but if a matchup ends without a winner, the point carries over to the next matchup, increasing its value until a winner is determined. All 27 matchups will be contested regardless of the score, with the team earning the most points crowned champion.
Â
Each competitor will wear a custom Collegiate All-Star Rodeo jersey featuring their university logo and will receive prize money for participating. Members of the winning team will also receive an escalated payout from the event's $180,000 total purse. The rodeo will be streamed live on Fox Nation.
Â
Following the rodeo, three-time award-winning country music superstar Brad Paisley will headline a concert inside Canvas Stadium.
