Cowgirls Named AVCA Team Academic Award Honoree

16th-straight season UW receives honor

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 19, 2024) – The Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team once again received the AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT for the 2023-24 academic year. It marks the 16th consecutive year that the Cowgirls have earned the honor.

 

Wyoming was among a record number of volleyball programs to receive the award across both collegiate and high school volleyball. To receive the academic award, a program must maintain a team GPA of 3.30 or better for 2023-24. The Cowgirls had a team GPA of 3.34 this last academic year and had four student-athletes named CSC Academic All-District.

 

The 2024 Cowgirls report for Fall Camp on August 7 as they enter their second season under Head Coach Kaylee Prigge. UW opens action with an exhibition match against Weber State at 1 p.m. on Aug. 24 in Green River. The regular season begins Aug. 30 at the Omaha Invite.
