Samuel Harris Named Old Trapper MW Freshman of the Week

He rushed for a career-high 68 yards against No. 20 Utah

LARAMIE, Wyo.  (SEPT. 15, 2025) – Wyoming true freshman running back Samuel “Tote” Harris was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Freshman of the Week on Monday.

 

Harris rushed for a career-high 68 yards to lead the Cowboys against No. 20 Utah. He also added a career-high 28-yard rush, as he averaged 8.5 yards per rush in the contest.

 

He also caught a career-high three passes for a career-high 37 yards. He recorded a 32-yard reception and finished the contest with 105 all-purpose yards. He is rushing for 43.3 yards per game so far this season and adds 7.2 yards per rush.

He was named as a three-star recruit by 247Sports.com. As a senior, he averaged 9.3 yards per carry with three scores. Also added a receiving touchdown on the season. Led his team to a deep playoff run with double-digit wins and an undefeated district record. As a junior, Harris rushed for nearly 800 yards and 11 scores. He also added 16 receptions out of the backfield. He also had offers from Washington, UNLV, San Jose State, Nevada and Utah.
