Pokes in the NFL, Week 4: Welch Gets More Opportunities in Third Pro Season

LARAMIE, Wyo. - It's been a long process, but Treyton Welch is starting to see more time with New Orleans. In what is his third professional season, the former University of Wyoming tight end played a career-high 19 snaps in the Saints' 45-24 loss to Atlanta on Monday night.
He split his 19 snaps between seven on offense and 12 on special teams. He also logged a receiving target.
This season, Welch has played 47 snaps: 22 on offense and 25 on special teams for the 1-3 Saints. New Orleans hosts Minnesota in Week 5.
Treyton Welch played at Wyoming from 2019 through 2023, finishing his career with 77 receptions for 874 yards and nine touchdowns in 50 games, averaging 11.4 yards per catch. He recorded a career-high 31 receptions as a senior in 2023, totaling 308 yards and two touchdowns. That matched his 2022 receiving yardage, when he caught 22 passes and scored a career-best five touchdowns.

Below is a list of former Wyoming Cowboys and how they performed in Week 4.
Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills)
Allen and the Bills struggled in a 29-26 loss to New England on Sunday. He was 23-for-33 for 253 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Allen ran it only five times for four yards, with an additional score.
For the season, Allen is 82-for-122 for 1,037 yards with half a dozen touchdowns and three picks. On the ground, he's carried it 33 times for 118 yards with seven scores for the 3-1 Bills.
Buffalo heads to Los Angeles to face the Rams on Monday Night Football.
Andrew Wingard (Arizona Cardinals)
Wingard didn't factor much into the Cardinals' 36-24 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. He only made one tackle.
For the season, Wingard has recorded 23 tackles, three tackles for loss, one pass defended, one interception, and one forced fumble for the 1-3 Cardinals.
Arizona hosts Detroit in Week 5.
Carl Granderson (New Orleans Saints)
Granderson was inactive in the Saints' 45-24 loss to Atlanta on Monday night.
For the season, Granderson has 11 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one quarterback hit, and a blocked field goal.
New Orleans hosts Minnesota in Week 5.
Marcus Epps (Philadelphia Eagles)
Epps was inactive in the Eagles' 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
This season, Epps has recorded 14 tackles for the 2-2 Eagles.
Philadelphia travels to London to battle Jacksonville in Week 5.
Frank Crum (Denver Broncos)
Crum has started the season on Denver's injured reserve list. The Broncos fell to San Francisco, 24-14, on Sunday, dropping to 2-2.
Denver travels to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5.
Caden Barnett (Chicago Bears) and Evan Svoboda (Los Angeles Chargers) are on their teams' practice squads. John Michael Gyllenborg (Kansas City Chiefs) suffered a season-ending injury in fall camp.
