AFCA Executive Director Craig Bohl will be one of seven new members to be inducted into the North Dakota State University Bison Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 20.
Bohl was named executive director of the AFCA in January 2024 after a 21-year head coaching career. In his 11-year career as NDSU’s head coach, Bohl guided the Bison to 104 victories, four conference titles and three straight FCS national championships. He was a two-time AFCA Regional Coach of the Year winner in 2011 and 2013 and a two-time AFCA FCS National Coach of the Year honoree in 2012 and 2013. Bohl’s 104 wins are the most in NDSU history.
The other inductees are men’s basketball career leading scorer Ben Woodside and career leading rebounder and second-leading scorer Brett Winkelman, All-America outfielder and NDSU baseball’s all-time leading hitter Matt Mann, three-time Academic All-America® softball outfielder Sarah Schmitz, six-time All-American and two-time NCAA track and field throwing champion Diandra (Bauer) Gallagher, national champion and three-time All-America wrestler Wayne Mooney, and the 1998 NCAA Division II national championship wrestling team.
The event will be held on campus in the Nodak Insurance Basketball Performance Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the induction ceremony to start at noon.
The hall of fame class will also be recognized at halftime of NDSU’s Sept. 21 homecoming football game against Towson University.
