Former UW QB Josh Allen Weds Actress-Singer Hailee Steinfeld in California

Sorry ladies, Josh Allen is now officially married to actress/singer Hailee Steinfeld following a quick wedding getaway in Montecito, California last weekend.  The couple engaged in the fall of 2024. Several of Allen’s Buffalo Bills teammates stood by his side during the ceremony. Yet, we haven't heard anything about any University of Wyoming players participating in the wedding. Yet another strange twist to what can be perceived as Allen straying away from connections to the University of Wyoming.

The Firebaugh, California native and Buffalo Bill quarterback now takes the title of “Most Valuable Husband,” in addition to the NFL League MVP award he received in earlier of this year. Allen is no stranger to MVP awards…He was also awarded the Idaho Potato Bowl MVP award during his final game as a Cowboy in 2017. 

About Josh Allen’s Career at Wyoming

Allen’s rise from a little-known Reedley junior college quarterback to a first-round NFL Draft pick continued in Laramie. As Wyoming’s starting quarterback in 2016 and 2017, Allen led the Cowboys to back-to-back eight-win seasons and two bowl appearances—something the program hadn’t achieved in decades. He capped his college career by earning MVP honors in the 2017 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and was named the North Team’s Most Outstanding Player at the 2018 Senior Bowl.

A two-year team captain and 2017 Preseason Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year, Allen totaled 5,833 yards of offense (5,066 passing, 767 rushing) and was responsible for 57 touchdowns (44 passing, 12 rushing, 1 receiving) in his UW career. He guided Wyoming to a Mountain Division title in 2016, engineered multiple game-winning drives, and was invited to prestigious events like the NFL Combine, Senior Bowl, and Manning Passing Academy.

Despite missing games due to injury in 2017, Allen’s leadership and dynamic play helped transform the Cowboys into conference contenders. He graduated in December 2017 with a degree in social science and left a legacy that helped elevate the Wyoming football program to the national spotlight. All information courtesy of UW Athletics.
