LARAMIE, Wyo. (April 29, 2025) – Former Wyoming Cowboy linebacker Connor Shay was selected in the first round of the Canadian Football League Draft on Tuesday. Shay has dual citizenship, as he was picked sixth overall by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Shay also accepted invites to Rookie Mini Camps with the Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets.
Connor Shay appeared in 49 career games for the Cowboys. He finished his career with 97 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He had a career year in 2024, recording 76 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He recorded a career-high 12 tackles against Colorado State in 2024 and added 1.5 sacks in his final collegiate game against Washington State.
