CASPER, Wyo. - Casper, Wyoming native Logan Wilson has officially called it a career, announcing his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday, via an Instagram post, closing the book on a six-season NFL career.
The Natrona County High School standout rose from a lightly recruited prospect to one of the most productive linebackers in the University of Wyoming's history before his NFL career.
At 29 years old, Wilson finishes his pro career with 565 total tackles, 11 interceptions, 26 pass deflections, and seven forced fumbles across stints with the Cincinnati Bengals and briefly with the Dallas Cowboys. He was a large part of Cincinnati’s defense after being selected in the third round (65th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft.

During the Bengals’ 2021 playoff run, Wilson snagged a key interception in the AFC Divisional Round against the Tennessee Titans, helping lead the franchise to their first road playoff victory. He would go on to lead the team in tackles multiple seasons, including a career-high 135 in 2023.

Before his NFL success, Wilson had a banner college career in Laramie. Wilson amassed 421 tackles, fourth-most in school history, along with 10 interceptions and multiple defensive touchdowns. His senior season earned him First-Team All-Mountain West honors and All-American recognition.
His final NFL chapter came in 2025, when he was traded midseason from Cincinnati to Dallas after his agent requested a trade. He appeared in seven games for the Dallas Cowboys before being released in early 2026. According to ESPN, Wilson was cut by the Dallas Cowboys to save the team 6.5 million in salary cap space.
